A good short game. Not waste of time,but I was hoping for more.
First I never read any previews or other story about this game,only the background concept of the game.
Gamespot review is quite on the poin about this game. Only thing I can't agree with their review is "the Dark enviroments". The game is most about metro,which is dark! And mostplace had no power,so the darkness is part of the game idea. ^^
I agree about Problematic AI. I did found sometime the AI has problem,but it wasn't that bad,unlike Battlefield BC2 AI.
Atmosphere in the game is good,but I find it was not that good compared with that of STALKER(s). Nor the enemy in this game give that same level of Atmosphere or nor did they actualy scary me. There were NO enemy in this game give me the chill like fighting with STALKER's "Bloodsucker"(Maybe it's just me,but I'm quite "paranoid" when get in to a tunnel or dark place where there is Bloodsuckers). Over all the Atmosphere is better then most this typee FPS(like MW2 SP).
The post apocalyptic concept is good,but with no Roleplay element like STALKER,it just little too much "simple" FPS for me.
The stealth gameplay is quite good,a change from the "normal line" of FPS.
The game has not much bugs or crashes at all,which I was waiting for as thisi is part of the group that made STALKER.
My stander of a good game(FPS or others) is not "a FPS need to have best graphics to be a good game". Story,Gameplay and Atmosphere is most more important for me. But still I have to say this game has quite good grahics. The light,shadows and so on,is very very good. There is some small graphics problem,but over all,this game have a good(8.5/10)graphics.
The sounds are up to stander for FPS.
The weapons need some works. All the weapons have "stander" one's and their "Modify" version. Which I was little hoping that I would get to modify my personal choose. Also the weapons are too few. I didn't like shotguns,because there is only 1(+1 modify),consider most fighting happed to be CQB,that was little annoying. I think sniper "gun"(the one that use gas) have no use at all(with all that much CQB).
I read some review that some people think the enemy can take to much DMG to kill. On that point I can't say I agree. ANY human enemy can be take down by ONE shoot. Monsters can not be take down(only those small one's can be kill in 1 shoot). There is a point of this game,about that the world just ended,so do not spray you ammo around,you won't get more that easy(like say MW2). so, when it comes to gunplay and their power.all is well,with only one small problem. Some of the bullet just shoot of enemy gasmask. I think that is just stupid. Hope they will fix it(5.45mm or 0.44 bullet does not just knock off peoples gas mask when it hit the man on the face)
This game is overall somewhat challenging but not too hard if you have play FPS.
Other flaws:
Little too short? Maybe it's a good idea to keep it short,as it could get boring for FPS to take too long to finish.
Overall:
This FPS is must play for those who's think a game should have good Atmosphere and story is very important. But for those that like MW2 style of FPS(big firefight,a army of men fighting...),this most likely won't give you that much of fun. But Stalker fan should try this. A point for this FPS is that the story never get "cold",It does not get boring at any point. It will drive you on to see what happed next.
