A truly immersive sci-fi shooter. I actually enjoyed it more than Fallout 3.
What sets this game apart from other games is the level of immersion and the story telling. They integrate the story in to the game play, kind of like F.E.A.R. did, where you have these well-timed flash backs and cut scenes. The immersion factor is simply top notch. As you walk around in the game world, you can totally get a picture of how the world must look to a child, or a Ranger protecting the Metro Stations.
I can only think that the awesome ambiance set in this game comes directly from the Book: Metro 2033 which the game was based on.
The graphics were outstanding. I played the game on max settings and experienced on average 60FPS with vsync enabled, which means I wasn't dipping below 60 much at all.
I definitely want to see more from this development studio in the future. The game mechanics are very well done and, over all, I have to say that I'm surprised and impressed. I gave it an 8.5 because it's nearly impossible to get a 10 out of me.
