Storyline and characters are good, but unfortunately gameplay is absolutely retched.

First off I cant believe people are giving this game such high praises. Aside from the atmosphere, textured environment, and the storyline there isn't much to say about the game. Anyone who likes fps will tell you realism in weapons to damage ratio is a must. Take in point your enemies here are sometimes fitted with WW2 helmets, now I can understand that if you have a pistol and you shoot at said enemy it will protect them, but when you have a double barrel shotgun aimed at their head point blank.....uhmmm yeah you'll soon find out it takes about 3-4 shots before you take them down, thats if their human. The mutants on the other hand have no armor and takes just about the same if not more amount of shots to bring them down. At first I thought it was because I was playing hardcore difficulty, but nope easy difficulty garners the same result.

Another thing that bothers me is the character you play never speaks in the game, you only hear him as the narrator before you start your missions or when he's huffing pumping up his pneumatic (think Supersoaker) weapons, is there a reason why he cant talk? Wait theres more, apparently no one has the knowledge to make to make good ammo, yet later on in the game everyone has nightvision goggles? WTF? Too make matters worse your enemies NVG don't need recharging yet you have to recharge yours every 7-8 minutes? Wait it gets better, the same charger you use to charge your headlamp also charges the NVG. So someone knows how to invent a charger in post-nuclear Moscow that charges both NVG and a headlamp yet dont know how to mix the right quantity of potassium nitrate, sulfer, charcoal and melt down metal to make good ammo? Lets say you want the bad guys unlimited energy NVG after putting them down, oh wait you can't raid them cause that would make too much sense. Finally the confusing ending or endings (theres 2 of them), does Artyom save his metro station? What about the Dark Ones? Endings usually explain things not add more confusion. I can only guess why they did this and that is a sequel...please for the love don't even go there

I could go on, but there is far too many bad things about this game. All and all a terrible game. I repeat DO NOT BUY you will regret it, rental at best. To think I powertraded Forza 3 for this. Shame
