Atmospheric, damp and thrilling, 4A Games made an incredible game.
User Rating: 10 | Metro 2033 PC
When I heard about Metro 2033, my expectations were pretty high. An atmospheric, damp shooter that features STALKER-level thrills and Fallout-esque environments. I was sold. I guess I was right: my first runthrough with the game was very impressive, despite the fact I had to downsize the resolution to get a great performance. Nevertheless, the game is quite unique thanks to its atmosphere and currency, pre-war bullets. While Metro 2033 is a linear game, it might have one of the best hubs ever. Children playing around, soldiers sharing jokes and events, civilians going through their daily routine. It all adds up to a great-looking game. Even at low settings, the game looks pretty darn good. The Russian voice acting is spot-on and I liked some of the characters. The gameplay feels right. Some will call the shooting 'spongy', but I found it rather smooth. If you own a 360 or a PC capable of running games, go buy this game. You won't regret it.
