Extraordinary. I'll show you why I like this game much more enjoyable than most other FPS.
1. Most other survival FPS games you are in the story alone such as f.e.a.r., stalker, cryostasis, bioshock. When I play these games for a while I started to feel frustrated and boring because I really hate to find a way through some stages of the game. So, what I usually do is press alt+tab and open internet...gamefaqs.com and read the walkthrough. Some games don't even have a compass! Or not very useful compass such as bioshock that sometimes I'm stuck and don't know where to go next. The developers of METRO 2033 solved this problem beautifully by make the character meet with different people in the game that will guide the way. I think this is quite like in call of duty which even in a stealthy mission you'll always have someone to be with(mostly captain Price). This makes me rarely feel lonely in this game.
2. Stealthy missions also great. The game always hook me in when there's a mission like this. "just crouch and walk baby, crouch and walk, get behind him and FWWWW! he's dead by my throwing knife"
3. A little thing I like about this game is to collect some items from the dead body along the way, and it's easy to find not like some games that hide a secret items in a very secret place. I'm playing a shooter game not investigating game. However, I hate this in stalker because when I collect items from a dead body I always have to drop their pistol, and this happens throughout the game.(I have to click drop pistol for about 10 million times)
4. I don't know what it's call but I'll call it "no hitpoint" game, which is very very good. It's like COD 2-6 and crysis which your character will die if you get hit enough continuously, you can recover for a while and your hp will become full again. This reminds me one of the most things I hate about stalker is once I finished dealing with an enemy I have to open my inventory and eat some kind of bread or using medkit.
Now the bad things (so little that I still give it 10/10)
1. The compass's not so clear. When there are missions that my AI partner have to go or die, this start to become a problem. I don't know whether the objective's on top of me or below me. I suggest that the compass have to be very clear where I have to walk next not like following it and end by a wall with nowhere to go and I have to go back looking for some alternatives or staircase or a closed door(but it's not that difficult in this game).
2. The flashlight battery annoys me throughout the game. Why do I have to check my flashlight battery and press it a few time every 5 minutes?
3. It's the time that I and Miller have to get to the lift or something. Miller AI's very stupid, he kept walking very slow and let those bubbles exploded near him again and again, and when I'm reloading he can't defend himself so he died every time. I tried to run through it to the end and I reached it, but poor stupid Miller kept walking slowly until he died, again. I've already played this checkpoint for 36 times and I couldn't pass it. If There's a mode that I can reduce the difficulty to something like "very easy" in a certain checkpoint, I'll be thankful.
Overall I think this game is very good and enjoyable so if any
other game developers read this review please please listen to my advise, so from now on there will be more good FPS games available for everyone to play.
