Metro Last Light | A Quick Review (Xbox 360)
User Rating: 8.5 | Metro: Last Light (Limited Edition) X360
Metro Last light is an immersive and very well executed Horror-Shooter from 4A Games. Almost every aspect of Metro 2033 was improved upon, but most importantly is the design. The first game seemed clunky at times, but in MLL many elements have been simplified without taking any real content away. Some die hard metro fans may be a bit disappointed, but these changes are for the better. The immersion factor is stunning. This is mainly accredited to the excellent sound design, lighting, and overall presentation. Words cannot describe the perfect atmosphere that is created, it must be experienced. Gameplay is also tweaked and improved on from the first, with some fat trimmed in places of need. Story remains good, and book readers of the series will get some great nods here and there. The difficulty, when set to "Hardcore", is perfect for experienced players, and the added "Ranger Mode" disables HUD for even more absorption. There were a few small bugs here and there, but nothing game-breaking.
Overall, Metro Last Light's immersive atmosphere and gameplay are what make it shine. Both elements are excellent enough to make a second play-though craved for. Although there is little innovation in MLL, the high end execution is well worth your cash. Well done 4A!
