Isn't the Metroid series great, a female bounty hunter in a Sci-Fi world battling space pirates? Metroid Fusion is a good game, but if you are looking for a game that equals Super Metroid on the (SNES), you won't find it here. Super Metroid has to be my all time favorite game. This game was way ahead of it's time when it come out. I can't quite pinpoint what makes the game so good, but there are many factors that contribute. Metroid Fusion is much like Super Metroid, but doesn't give the player the same value as Super Metroid. Fusion is a great game despite its comparison to Super Metroid. I think the main flaw with Fusion is the level layout. Fusion uses a small structured level layout and allows Samus to only explore certain areas. Once she has explored the areas there is little reason to return to them other than missile / bomb upgrades. The sound and graphics of this game are excellent. I’m not a big fan of handheld systems, but this one works good with the Gameboy Advance. Controls are great and easy to use. If you are a Metroid fan, I do suggest this game. Don’t try to compare it to Super Metroid. You may find yourself disappointed.
