After all of the hype from Nintendo regarding Echoes, I was expecting something more than an expansion pack to Metroid Prime. But alas, that's pretty much what you get. There is a little difference with the light and dark world bit, but overall I am getting a serious deja vu feeling while playing this. There are still no alternate control schemes either. Either you use the control scheme the developers want, which is cumbersome at best, or nothing at all. The graphics are top notch again, as is the soundtrack and sound effects. Its just too bad that those 2 things alone dont make a good game. If Nintendo wants to be known for bucking trends such as online capability, then they should buck the trend that says that everything must be in 3d. Metroid was at the top of its game when it was in 2d. Give me more GBA Metroid games over a Prime game any day of the week.
