This game was a disappointment for the sole reason it was not as good as its predecessor.

I hate to compare games... actually I don't myself. Most people don't like to compare games to other games, but then how can you say one is better than the other. This game is no where near as good as MP1, from its linearity, to its story.

GAME PLAY

Same high quality FPS action as the first. Yeah, so what if its EXACTLY the same as the first game except for 3 weapons and some visors. Well, the visors are different, but they serve the same purpose as the original visors anyway. The new weapons are all great in the way they work. Some work better on certain enemies and stuff. But there is one huge annoyance. Limited ammo. Its annoying, its frustrating, it adds nothing to the game. Well except the main gun being your primary weapon.

Well, the platforming is the same, you can curl up as a ball and roll around to get in tight to reach areas, drop bombs to pop yourself over ledges. When in your regular form, you can jump, use lockon, and charge shot. Its the regular stuff that we are all used to. Nothing better, nothing worse.

GRAPHICS

I didn't like the graphics in this game as much as the first. Did I mention the graphics in this game were still amazing though. The great shaders, high quality lighting, huge areas. Bosses were a bit bland at times, and some levels had a bit too much backdrop, but other than that it was just fine.

SOUND

The music was great, sound effects were good. Ambiance wasn't as pronounced as in the original game. Sad too, I liked the ambiance. The game really does a good job on the music, making the music fill the levels with personality. The old pirate music is back once again, and is still pretty annoying to me. Making things worse is that song is catchy.

VALUE

Without the filler near the end of the game, the game is just as long as the first game. The filler is a horrible boring part of the game, thats filled with random encounters, and random searching, for random stuff. It takes forever and you won't like it. Oh, the game has a hard mode for those who breeze through the easy normal difficulty, though it isn't much harder except in a few bosses.

TILT

For this game I'm using story's grab as the tilt. The story, though good, isn't near the level that MP1's story was. Solely for the way the story was told in MP1 it will never be achieved by any game ever again. I can't get over it... anyway the story is a bit more generic, and the enemies are bad, and good guys are good, and the pirates are bad... you shoot stuff too. I kind of felt like that at first. The story does pick up, but I never felt as engaged as in the first game.
