The things that made the 1st game great shine in Echos. However the amount of backtracking can get old fast.

User Rating: 9.1 | Metroid Prime 2: Echoes GC
If you played and loved the 1st Metroid Prime, stop reading this and pick up Echos.

The game keeps most of what made the 1st such a great game. This time around, the game adds a new ammo system, and light/dark environment.

Echos graphics and gameplay are perfected from the 1st game. However, most people will find the new light/dark puzzels and tatics get old fast.

In Echos, Samus lands on a planet to help out some marines, only to find them slaughtered. I wont go into the story because I dont want to ruin it for you.

Samus, once again, loses her suits powerups, and must recover them(this is the classic metroid shtick). Having to find all you power-ups in both worlds, and finding ammo means lots of backtracking, which will get annoying.

Like in the 1st game, their are lots of native wildlife and boss's to scan and kill.
Also the great music, sound and atmosphere return. Echos even offers a multiplayer mode, which does not play well.

With all its faults, this is still a great game. This game will make a lot of nintendao fans, including myself, very happy.
