The Retroid's still got it.
This is the sequel to one of the best GCN games ever, Metroid Prime, lets see how it stacks up... Story: You are samus, you go to Aether after geting a distress signal from the GFS and discover that the planet has been split into 2 dimensions, one light and one dark. You have to kill the evil Ing by collecting Keys and returning power to the Light Side, you also encounter Metroid Prime from MP1.
Gameplay: Everything still works good in the game like it did last time. Now you have a few new moves [like "teh @w$$0^^ne$$ Screw Attack!] that all work quite well, and some things have gotten easier for me to do, like Bomb Jumping and you can now fire while using the Grapple Beam. In this one the Key Collection is a little tedious, and the Light/Dark worlds feel like Zelda LttP, but it worked out quite well with the Light Portals. The worst part and the reson this game got a "hard" ranking was 3 little words, "Spider ******* Guardian", I spent so much time trying to kill that thing, and around the end where you had to find the 9 Keys would be very hard for Metroid newbies [luckily I had the guide ^.^], but the boss battles maintained their fun. But the Light Dark beam was a little aqnnoying, luckily I knew how to conservate and had enough ammo most of the time. Controls: I don't really need to describe this much again. Everything is mainly unchanged and works fluidly. It is easy enough to do everything, if you need to know more find my review for Prime 1.
Graphics: It is mainly unchanged except for a few details. The new worlds do look great but lack the beauty of Prime 1's levels. But everything does look very well rendered and everything looks gorgeous. I was very impressed by what the game can do, and the beauty of the game.
Sound: It is basicly the same thing, some things make noises, but there is no VA. All of the Music is great and the sound effects are good. But I was pleased with it.
Multiplayer: Since it had one I will do this, the Multiplayer was like Goldeneye with Samus, you play as Samus in a diffrent colored Suit and you have a few modes, but it gets old quickly.
Replayability: You can find all of the items easier, but you wil lwant to find them and Scan everything for the photo galleries. You will play for a while.
Overall: A very fun Sequel for a great Metroid game, can't wait for MP3: Corruption.
