Metroid Prime 2 might not exceed the greatness of the first game, but it is still one of the best games on the Gamecube.
User Rating: 9.2 | Metroid Prime 2: Echoes GC
I think I speak for everyone when I say that Metroid Prime is still the greatest adventure available on the Gamecube. From its tight control to its amazing visuals, it was an awesome game to play through. Fans and critics alike waited two long years for the sequel. In late 2004 Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was released and it holds true to being an amazing continuation to the Metroid Prime saga. Its graphics are even greater then the original and the gameplay is the same great shooting that fans of the original love. There's even an extra multiplayer mode. Although it's not the deepest multiplayer around, it's still fun and addicting (especially with four players) and adds lots of value to the game that the original didn't have. Echoes has it's downsides as well. The music isn't quite as immersive as the original's and the different areas and levels aren't quite what they were in the first game. The game still rocks though. The bosses are a blast to fight (even though a few of them are just a pain to beat) and the enemies remain as unique as ever. If you played the first game or have played anything Metroid related, I can promise you that you'll have fun with this game.
