Metroid Prime 2: Echoes just leaves you starving for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, I just shiver at the excitement of thinking of it.
The Great News: In the sequel to Prime 1, Prime 2 offers a few new features including most hardcore fan’s favourite move, the Screw Attack. As well as the Screw Attack being adding now your beam weaponry has limited ammo which I think gives the game a more strategy-survival feel. Finally the last most important feature added to Prime 2 is that they’ve added a small but good enough for me RPG factor to the game, you now have to go to the leader of light Aether to get directions on where you should head next. (Unlike in Metroid Prime 1 where every five minutes your map would go off showing you a new hint to something abnormal).
The Good News: Metroid Prime 1 although at the time had superb graphics to me, is nothing compared to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes’ enhanced graphics and atmosphere. In Echoes you can notice a big difference in Samus’s gunship and in her own armor as there is now much creases and sparkling detail added. Anyone rating graphics for this game should give it at least an 8.9 score or I’d be greatly offended if I had created this game.
The Disappointing News: The whole Dark World/Light World thing I thought was good at first because it made you feel uneasy about going into it knowing you’d only have a limited time before you die, but after about one hour into the game you lose all of that by getting the dark suit (the suit is awesome don’t get me wrong) however now going into the Dark World isn’t a issue or concern, the Dark World just becomes an irritation always having to travel back and forth and getting so lost and confused all of time. Basically Dark World goes from an unknown, scary, & dangerous place, to a dark…world lol.
The Bad News: Well the only bad news I guess is that Metroid Prime 2: Echoes just leaves you starving for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and on top of that I have to buy the Wii because it’s not being released on the Game-Cube.
Conclusion: Any Metroid fan out there has to buy this game because it’s in my opinion the best Metroid game in history, even if you’re not a Metroid fan I strongly recommend you buy this game for its great gameplay and strategy/adventure fun.
