Retro Studios' epic masterpeices come together in one single package for the Wii.
Metroid Prime Trilogy includes: both Metroid Prime & Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (both released on GameCube) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (released on Wii), metal packaging, an art booklet, complete story of the trilogy, 16:9 widescreen support, motion controls for both GC games, and a credits system for both MP & MP 2.
Gameplay & Controls:
All 3 games utilize the control scheme as seen in Metroid Prime 3. There are a few changes though such as changing weapons/visors with the - & + buttons on the Wiimote instead of the D-Pad. You move with the Nunchuk and point at the screen with the Mote. You also change the sensitivity of the pointer (I recommend you use Advanced, but use what you feel is comfortable).
Graphics & Presentation:
The Prime series is known for its beautiful worlds and artwork ("Prime" Examples: SkyTown, Sanctuary Fortress, Phendrana Drifts). The bosses look very "Metroid-ish" and intimidating. The graphics look extemely great (even for the Wii) and the bloom effects in Corruption really help the game stand out.
Story:
The story is pretty simple: you play as Samus Aran and your job is to once again foil the evil plans of the Space Pirates (Note for newcomers: They're not ACTUAL pirates, they're aliens). Gamewise, the trilogy takes place during Metroid (NES) & Metroid II: Return of Samus (GameBoy). This time around you must liberate planets such as Tallon IV, Aether, Bryyo, & Elysia from the radioactive scourge that is known solely as Phazon. The Prime series has a great story attached to it (Compared to most sci-fi shooters these days IMHO). The story evolves the more you get into the game and also through Lore Scans throughout the entire trilogy.
Last Comments:
The Trilogy is like the Orange Box....but for the Wii of course. Three classics on one game for one low price (Unless you're an Aussie). The games have gone through some changes during the years: such as some graphical changes and the removal of the word "damn" from Prime 3. One of the most notable changes is the lowered difficulty on Echoes. The original GC version was known for its challenging difficulty thus as a reaction Retro lowered the difficulty for newcomers. Other than that, it's a great game that should not be missed. Unfortunately, Nintendo discontinued the Trilogy so it'll be hard to find it at places such as GameStop (Ebay FTW!!).
P.S: Avoid idiotic and butthurt reviews of this game from people such as Jajathinx.
