Oh, where do I begin? Metroid Prime is clearly one of the greatest games of all time. And for all you "X-box-obsessed-gamecube-sucks" kind of people, here's a really good reason to get a gamecube. Metroid Prime jumps right into the action. You begin Investigating a damaged space pirate freighter, Where you Engage space pirates, and the parasite queen. Then you fight ridley,(a giant dragon type thing) and chase him down to a planet called Tallon IV. The games controls are perfect, and the enviorments are full of life, from Almost liflike enemies, to small flies buzzing around. Also, this is a very intelligent game. the AI is great, and you have to use your head to get around obstacles sometimes. Most games for gamecube use the R button to shoot, and that would be expected of an fps game such as MP, but that is not the case. The R button is used to lock on to an enemy, and the A button is used to fire. it might take some getting used to, but it is a good firing system. There are two main visors. One, the scan visor, allows you to scan objects in the nviorment and learn more about certain creatures. The COmbat visor is your normal first person screen.
The Game allows all of the famous power-ups, such as the morph ball, power beam, power bomb, varia suit, gravity suit, etc. It might not look all too metroid at first, but fans of the series have nothing to worry about. Metroid Prime is a game to remember.
