As far as a 3-D Metroid goes, this is what we get.

Dont get me wrong. I'm not going to bash the hell outta this game, it just wasn't for me. Personally, I loved Metroid when I first played it on the SNES. Super Metroid. The music, the environment, the weapons, and not mention the best Bounty Hunter ever. Samus. Since then, I played Metroid Fusion for the GBA and I enjoyed it. Not as much as Super Metroid, but enough to please me until the finish. Now, when I got my cube, I picked up Metroid Prime. I am still going to give this game some more time, but from what I've played is rather tedious and boring. Maybe I went into this game thinking of classic first person shooters, but this is not one of those. The mechanics may be there, but the game has way to much back tracking to make it enjoyable for me. When I playing a 2D Metroid, back tracking was fine, but for me, in a 3D world, I just dont enjoy it. The worlds, characters and weapons all look wonderful. There's no doubt about that. I wish the controlls were a little better. Like 1 stick to walk around, and 1 to look around would have been great. Like I said, this game bored me. I would rent it before buying it.
