This game was originally released around the same time as Metroid Fusion on the GBA and I played alongside the excellent hand held. While Metroid was and is a fantastic game it has many things that are very different from the old metroid series. The GBA game had you running through and finding a way of unlocking doors through finding a place that will open different leveled doors instead of the weapon specific doors. The GBA game also had plenty of time telling the story, and as great as all these things are, that isn't how metroid was before. Metroid Prime on the other hand had weapon coded doors(although different form old but similar at least), and no story telling time. This game has a unique way of telling the story through a scan visor and finding objects that can be read, or not. This game creates tons of that going back and forth throughout the world to find different objects, enemies, weapons that was so great in all older metroids. This game has a beautiful immersive world with interesting but not frustrating platforming aspects inside of a 1st person shooter. Fascinating game play good lock on system fun weapons and a 3d morph ball. I think anyone who has a GC shouldn't even think of not buying this game.
