Some people have complained about the lake of aiming in this game and the lock on system, I completely disagree. The lock on system is perfect for this game. The puzzles work, many are made possible with the lock on system. The beams and bosses are very cool. When I first played this game the graphics were breath taking, easily the best graphics on the Gamecube at the time (only surpassed by MP2) and some of the best out of the GCN, PS2, and Xbox, beating Halo and nearing Halo 2. Halo 2 has some very pretty graphics, but Metroid Prime has some interaction that is absent in the likes of Halo 1 and 2. Can you shoot down the birds flying overhead or see your face in the reflection of your visor in Halo? I didn't think so. Plus some of the beam affects are very nice, such as the ice missile. The sound is very nice and works perfectly with this game. For $20 this game is a steal and a must buy. If you own a Gamecube and have not bought this game I pity you, this was well worth my $50 at its launch. The only downfall of this game is the lack of multiplayer. There is some replay value to this game (and realize that I can count the number of games that I have beaten more than once on one hand). In order to unlock everything all of the weapon upgrades must be found and everything must be scanned.
