The first 3-D metroid game in years really proves itself a worthy, yet challenging game. Not to mention awesome as well.

So many hints have been given for a 3-D metroid game since super smash brothers came out and for the sequel as well (Super Smash Bros. Melee.) Metroid fans have probably been dying for a new game and never has retro studios done such a exquisite job on making a new metroid game. The detail on bump-mapping andl ighting effects give it a realistic look yet making the scenery very unrealistic, making it creative. But it's the gameplay and foundation of this game that really makes this an awesome game. It's a great shooter and really has a comptetion between this and Halo because both are just as good as shooter games. The effects of reflection and motion sensing controls give it a feel never experienced. It's a great game no doubt about it but it does get kind of repetitive as you spend most of the game on the same planet and some monsters really get on your nerve. But it's good to have a challenging game not enough to annoy but to make you on the edge of yous eat kind of thing. This is the first metroid in year and it really proves itself a worthy, yet challenging game. Not to mention awesome as well. Metroid Prime is probably one of the greatest games to have ever been announced on the gamecube.
