Maybe the best Gamecube and Metroid game to date. A must-have for Gamecube owners.

Man, Super Metroid was impressive, but this game blew my mind. Initially, like most gamers, I was very skeptic about a Metroid FPS. Then I actually played it, greatness! The graphics are some of the best on the Gamecube and the music still gives off the same spooky vibe that totally fits the atmosphere. The controls are also spot-on. Fire with the A button and jump with B. Now, shooting up the aliens is easier thanks to the lock on feature by hold down the L shoulder button. You can switch through the four different beams you unlock during the game with the C Stick, each with it's own unique property. One of the coolest things about this game is that it's strategic and actually presents you with a challenge. You can find enemy weaknesses and learn more about the plot with the scan visor, which definitely helps with boss fights. The story is mostly told through Chozo Lore, which you scan throughout the game. The game also has the same non-linear world and a lot of the classic Metroid power-ups like the Ice Beam and Grappling Beam, but it also has a few new power-ups. In the end, it's a great FPS that any Gamecube owner should check out.
