Solid action Game for the PSP Good Controls, Fast Load times, Good Graphics. Co-op Play as well! Sleeper hit!
The main character models have a good amount of detail just below character models in syphon filter. The enemy models obviously not as much detail but enough to distinguish one from another although I imagine there may not be too many throughout the game. Than Animation is extremely fluid and there seems to be alot so far, no only can you leave against objects pop out and shoot you can also place statues on the ground and use them as cover, hopefully later in the game there will be more than just statues to add variety. You have the option of choosing between crocket and tubbs but I haven't tried both yet and I imagine there is no difference between the 2 except for the look. The cinemas remind me of the grand theft auto series with alot of animation and good voice acting. The enviornments seem to use a blurr which reminds me of vice city but it's could just be the first level since the sun is setting and the blurr isn't noticable inside.
Gameplay:
The controls are done to the benefit of the PSP and looks to use the Resident Evil 4 Control Scheme. I would have to say that my favorite control scheme on the PSP is Syhphon filter but I can confidently say that this would have to be the second best control scheme for developers to use for the psp and for gamers to pick up. Some may say that the downside is that you can 't shoot while running but this isn't a run and gun shooter, so the control scheme fits the game. So far there aren't any load times with the exception of starting up the game which I should of timed it but if I were to guess it was no more than 45 seconds and I didn't skip the publisher logos. Other than that load times are solid and extremely good for what the psp has been putting out.
Sound:
I'm not much of an Audiophile but I would like to point out there are a couple of enemy lines that I have heard at least 3 times on the first level and seems to be pretty standard. The voices I'm pretty sure but not positive are not the real actors but neither Colin Farell or Jaimie Fox have voices that stand out to me so I could be wrong. The music is your standard calm cool action music if that makes sense but it works with the experience and gameplay. One noticeable issue with some PSP games is hearing the psp disc spin or voice skipping but it's not present here, every sound so far is fluid and there are no pauses.
Features:
I played it in the store with some other kid who just picked it up to play the Co-op which is only ad hoc from what the box says but it's pretty damn nice and works well. Unfortunately I don't know how the major web site will review this game, which can make it hard to find other psp owners with this title so it may not get alot of use. Although more games should have this and it works well and it's fun.
Overal:
I really like this game alot so far but it seems like the psp library is finally getting some solid titles. With Tekken coming out this week I
