Fantastic game marred by the dread quick time event

User Rating: 7 | Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor XONE

One would have thought that the gameplay from Assassin's Creed would be so boring by now that everyone would truly hate it. Amazingly that only pertains to Assassin's Creed itself as Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor is a fantastic game set within the Tolkien world of Middle Earth and the gameplay and overall premise is awesome. The real only detriments to the game are the lack of available control and move listings outside of the super sporadic popups that help guide you and the ever hated quick time events. Lord how I hate them, its relevant in situations of combat and movement where your actions are integral to the gameplay but during other events where you have no idea what is going on with the event or how to complete it you fail miserably and usually die from the stupid crap that are these waste of game code QT events. This review is based around the gameplay and not the over arching story as I have barely progressed into the game. It is time for developers to remove the QT event addition to games as they ruin the fun, especially when you are getting into the narrative of a particular event and then have a QT pop up so you expect one button for the specified event but nope they are random and it ruins all the fun. PLEASE STOP THE QUICK TIME EVENTS!!
