Umissable Game of the Year

User Rating: 10 | Middle-earth: Shadow of War PC

Well as a mature gamer who has played them all and been pretty bored with gaming for many years as everything now is generic and similar, I have to say it is a very long time since I have played a game with a large grin on my face.

I loved the first game Shadow of Mordor which did not get the recognition it deserved. Shadow of War is pretty much the same, but the gameplay is much improved, the story line is a bit more involved through cut screens, the main quests a great fun, the game is much longer and the maps are larger. That said the combat is satisfying and fun, the graphics are awesome (probably the best I've seen in a video game to date - it is jaw droppingly gorgeous). More than anything the game world is huge and its fun to play. This game has 100 hours plus in it.

My only gripe is that after a while the game can feel a bit repetitive and is does get a bit easy once you level up your skills.

The game is very stable and I've had no crashes or glitches.

It is one of those great games where you can dive in and do a quest in 5 minutes and log off, or spend several hours playing.

I'm Playing in 1080p but apparently there is a high rez texture pack available if you're playing in 4k with a gtx1080 8gb gfx card
