MC3 is Rockstar Games' latest PSP import besides GTA and does some new things to it to make it better, but strips most of the fun parts away. You start off with the D-Class cars and sought of have to climb the charts by excepting challenges from street racers, clubs and tournaments. The DUB tournament, by far, is the best feature in the game. It pins you against some crazy race types where you have to race against the clock or tag as many checkpoints as you can before the timer runs out. Also, the customization has been included and doesn't differ much to the PS2 version. You have three ways of cheating races, by using Zone which allows you to slow down time for manuevering your car around more precissely. Agro acts as a shield where you can plow through almost everything in your way and finally there's Roar, which can only be done on muscles and choppers. This clears the road for you like an explosion. There is over 60 licensed vehicles to choose from and as you travel from three cities you get to unlock more cars and new races. The arcade mode acts good, but isn't that fun anymore. Online works well but feels washed out. The cars also feel a lot slower than the PS2 version. The framerate still gives you problems but you hardly have to deal with it since you ain't gonna go faster than 200km/h in one race. The screen is a bit dark, but you will eventually adjust to it. Thankfully, you won't have to play the original on the console before going for this one. It is just the same with a few added touches. However, you might want to try the console first to get a feel from it.
