Do yourself a favor and rent it first, even if you did play these games in the days of yore.
The gameplay is very diverse, since it has quiet a few games you can chose from, among them:
Marble Madness, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat III, gauntlet, Paper boy, Paper boy 2, Joust, Arch enemies, Spy Hunter, Sinistar, Defender, Wizard of Wor, Klax, Cyberball 2072,
There are others, I list these because these are the ones I played the most. I must say I did enjoy playing Marble Madness, Mortal Kombat, Rampage, Gauntlet, MKII, MKIII, Paper boy and Arch Rivals. The rest of the games I barely played them. Writing this review I came to realize that I did enjoy playing the games that were worth playing, also, as I write this review I recall how much time I did spend with this collection (all good point to mention). The bottom line is that the gamplay for the games that were worth playing is actually good.
The sound is not very good or memorable, in fact it has a few noticeable problems, especially in the MK’s, although there is a few nostalgia moments that are worth mentioning, for example in gauntlet. The graphics are what you can expect from a classics collection, there is problem with the screen size in a few of the games.
There is definitely value in this collection, although not a whole lot, and the value that is available is shadowed by thoughts like, they could have made this better. I can recommend this game as a rental, its not worth buying unless you really like it, experience it first and then decide. I had fun with this collection and may or may not (probably the latter) revisit it in a distant future.
