Don't play it at night, because suddenly it's Morning!

As my opener states, this will eat up hours of your life, and it is amazing how easily it does it. The game has the most boring and confusing start to any game I've ever played. The story is interesting, but recycled. Moving on though, you will be taught how to play the game by little tutorials that pop up every time you unlock a new character, or new Allies.

The gameplay basically revolves around a Puzzle type of setup. At first glance, you may think "Puzzle Quest". You'd be wrong. In order to mount an attack, you must line up 3 basic units of the same colour vertically. Once you have done that, a turn timer will begin, telling you when the attack will be made. The timer varies from different units. If you line up the basic units horozontally, they will form a wall which provides minor defense against attacking units.

The turns are distinguished by the number of moves you can make. The normal number of moves you can make per turn is 3, but making Unit combos and building walls will add additional moves. Special units are powerful allies that can deliver more damage than Basic units. To set up a special unit attack, you must line up two basic units of the matching colour behind it. Special Units have a number of different types. For instance, if your are Elven, you will get Deer, and they can clear walls by jumping, and still carry out their attack.

Combos are made by stacking. Stacking involves creating an attack, and then stacking an addition attack of the same colour behind that attack. This will fuse their together, and double their attack power, meaning more damage. Fusing is a crucial skill when coming up against Enemy combos.Stationary units that are not currently set as a wall, or are in an attack formation, can be killed without much effort by the attackers. Be careful not to lose your stronger Units this way, because they are not limitless. As with Champion units, Special units die, and new ones must be purchased with money outside of a battle.

Champion Units are a nasty but extremely cool way of delivering serious damage to your oponent. They must have 4 Units of the same colour behind them in order to activate. You cannot stack 4 behind it as it takes up 2 spaces of the battlefield on your side, so you need to stack two vertically on it's left side, and vice-versa for it's right side. A 5 turn countdown begins. When these units attack they deliver a ferious power that does heavy damage, and affects the enemy battlefield for a certain amount of time. An example of this would be a Dragon spitting acid onto the field, and the oponent taking damage every time his turn began. I am told there are also secret Units, but I haven't got that far yet.

The game is highly addictive. You will hate it at first as Its very hard to get the hang of it, and the learning curve is very big. But for some reason you will keep going back to try again. And again. And Again. Suddenly you've played 7 hours straight. It's that easy to lose yourself to this game. The graphics are very nice, despite the manga style of actual character models, and the replayabillity is decent. Thankfully the game does not require grinding and excessive levelling up in order to progress, but you may have to find other people to beat and gain experience from before you tackle boss fights.

Sometimes you recive assassination quests, and you have to eliminate a particular enemy. You will be paid very well for it, I promise. Other character offer you Puzzles such as finding a way to beat all the enemy's units in a single turn. These are hard, but addicitive. You will lose hours to these alone. I don't recommend this game for people who only want to play 30 minutes at a week. It can't be done.

Overall I think this is a superb game with great replayabillity, an emotionally satisfying Music score, and an indescribable addiction level that keeps you coming back for more! Final score: 9.0/10
