Great competitive strategy puzzle gameplay with depth and a story
There are 5 races to play with, Elves, Humans, Undead, Demons and Wizards, and each of those has two heroes to fight as with different spells to use as your tactical ability. You can also equip items that will give you certain advantages and change the rules of the game.
Your army consists of 3 basic units and 2 more elite or champion units. There are only 3 different basic units to chose from in each race, but you can stick to just one if you prefer it. As for elite units these have special powers and have to be unlocked first in the story mode, but each race has about 5 of them so there is some choice to be made before you go into battle.
All of your units are separated by color, so if you have a blue skeleton you cannot pair him with a white skeleton. This ensures that everything will be balanced out and fair no matter how many different units types you chose to include in your army.
You can only grab and move units that are far back in your army, by placing 3 of the same units with matching colors in a column you can create an attacking formation which will begin charging and attack after a few turns depending on their speed. Creating walls is also a good idea in battle, these help you defend from incoming attacks, you create them by placing 3 of the same colored units in a row.
The story mode will surprise you because it's fairly long, but only so because of plenty battles and loading screens. Maps are really small and the loading times between each one can become really annoying, this is the worst part of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, but if you're not in a hurry and love simple puzzle games with depth and strategy then rest assured this is worth the price.
