The formula is just right!

I have played HMM3, the one that is supposed to be the best in series, I actually had more fun with this one. The creatures are pretty tricked out here with some cool abilities. You will enjoy exploring the different monster menageries. There are a ton of abilities and spells to explore with your heroes now, too. That is a big part of the strategic fun of the game as you try to fine-tune which spell/ability combos are gonna win you the battles. I have just been playing the demo on a large skirmish map and not sure why I would want to pay 50 bucks for a cheesy story. I feel like the formula is right here.. they polished up the graphics, a lot, even if it looks way too much like WoW. I enjoyed the animations and fighting cutscenes.. was surprised they didn't get repetitive as they were varied and done well. The way resources/artifacts/p.o.i.'s are laid out on the map is pretty sweet. You do get the sense of exploring and there's always an element of risk or push your luck going on, which works well. Don't want to get to far away from that fort without a teleport spell kids! I kept having a hard time with the same faction who would murder me with ranged and powerful units. I adjusted my strategy to cope with ranged units and still they beat me again..the orc faction.. so not sure if its me or they are overpowered. Bottom line I played my ass off trying to beat those orcs and had a blast. I'll probably buy the game to try the other skirmish maps and multiplayer. I give this demo my full endorsement.. They give you all the game you will probably want to play for free. Took off one point for formulaic artwork. Stop trying to shove all the art through a meat grinder people!
