It lacks of variety, but the combat overall is pretty good.
Presentation: 8/10
The graphics were nicely done in this one, and the movements are all fluid with some nice effects for the special movements. The scenarios, while there are only a few, they have their decent amount of detail, remember we are talking about a SNES title.
Sound: 9/10
The soundtrack, directly extracted from the show, was very good. Again, there are few music tracks, but it was nice that each scenario had its own music, and, for the respective battle (being either against a giant monster or another zord) had a fitting soundtrack. Also the sound effects of the special moves were nice, and even you could hear the steps and falls of the characters fighting, like the giant beasts they are.
Variety: 7/10
This is the main problem with this game. There very few characters which makes the fights kind of predictable when you get to the point of remember or master all of the characters movesets. If I didn't gave a lower score in this part is because each character is very unique.
Combat: 8/10
It is very simple, low punch, high punch, low kick and high kick. Each character has like 3 special moves and a finishing move. But is that fact what makes it fun and easy for some quickplay. The difficulty, I have to add, is almost non existant; but against a friend the battles can get intense. What determines this is that each character is unique and has its advantages and disadvantages, and most importantly they are fun to play with.
Overall: 8
I can say that this game was a nice and solid fighter during the SNES era even if you didn't like the show (because everyone knew it). If you missed it and you are a fan, you should give it a look, no question.
