One of the most influential games ever made, but that's all it is... just influential.

User Rating: 7.5 | Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! NES
Who knows how long ago, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! released for the NES. It was a masterpiece for its time, and is widely considered to be the greatest boxing game of all time (until, arguably, the release of Electronic Arts' Fight Night series). While Punch-Out still holds up, I do find it to be just a tad overrated. The graphics are fantastic, especially for the NES; the only game that outshines it is Super Mario Bros. 3. The gameplay, essentially what made this game, is also outstanding. You can move your boxer in any direction, and both offense and defense are evenly accentuated. However, the sound is downright terrible, and there's little more to do after finishing the game than to just beat it again. Also, there's no two-player mode. Still, the game is lots of fun, and if you happen to find it in the bargain bin at your local game store, don't hesitate to buy it. Just don't go in with grand expectations.
