Mimana Iyar is a very straight turn-based JRPG -- it's solid if not a little uninspired.
If you want something a little more creative and unique, I'd skip this one.
The good:
* The visuals, while not unique, are very colorful, detailed, and just well done.
* The music and sounds are very... typical... again, not special, but very well done.
* The story is very straightforward with no real twists (admittedly I only logged about 6 hours, so there may be more to it...), but the usual mix of humor, drama, and character development are all there.
* RPG elements are straight up -- it gives you a nice mix of magic and swordplay in a semi-classless way, so you can form your character along the way with quite a bit of flexibility.
The not-so-good:
* The first few hours are very slow, so hang in there...
* Again, there's just really nothing unique here...
There you go -- if you liked Star Ocean and the like, this one's worth picking up. If you're looking for something fresh, you might want to pass...
