Amazing to experience....... ruined by frustration

Good things about this game: It looks amazing, not cutting edge graphics or anything, but great use of bright white and bold colours give the city a really clean futuristic look.. Complemented by an absolutely fantastic soundtrack which fits in perfectly. Also the free running gameplay feels really original in first person, and when it flows its fantastic, especially some of the vertigo inducing jumps. And to be honest that's also where all the problems in this game lay, in the gameplay, like I said when it flows its great but so often the pace is ruined by repeated falls, and... not necessarily unresponsive controls, just a need to be... I dunno... stickier... Faith is supposed to be a professional free runner and yet you jump at a ledge and its 50/50 whether she will grab it, running up a wall sometimes works.. sometimes doesn't.. fall after fall after fall is NOT fun. Combat sometimes works great, but sometimes your combos push the enemy away so they can kill you (also the enemy placement isn't fun.....not laid out in a way that invites stealthy disarms or even hand to hand in my opinion). I think that's the main problem... you can repeat the same action and fall/die/miss so often... yet survive the next time by doing the same thing! The controls needed to be more flexible... for example.. you run to the edge of a massive jump.. you want to leave it to the last second, but get to the very edge and rather than pitch off with her feet... she just falls.... annoying....
Also, the level layout kills the pace but giving you little hint of where to go (red pipes/ledges only work so often) and the hint button often only shows you where you should get to... not the route that you're aimlessly trying to locate! One major dissapointment for me was also the cutscenes! I was expecting some really sharp anime style stuff, which would've suited... Instead you get some verry shoddy cheap looking flash animation, poor. I lost what was happening in the plot to be honest due to frustration... sometimes I think they made it hard to hide its short length.
So to sum it up, its a great idea, can be exhilarating and mostly looks and sounds great, but it will drive you bonkers..
