User Rating: 8 | Mirror's Edge PS3
Mirror's Edge is a great step up in gameplay and introduces a whole new concept to the gaming world. Instead of running on near-flat terrain, or driving tanks and firing weapons. You experience the life of a young woman named Faith who is trying to set things straight in her metropolis, which is trying its best to become a utopia. You run around on rooftops, inside buildings, in air ducts and take elevator trips all around the city to get to your next objective, all in first person view. Unfortunately, cheap deaths plague the game and are unavoidable on your first try. The visuals are absolutely stunning, more-so on the PC version with it's PhysX capabilities. The story is very interesting but does take a bit of attention and maybe another playthrough or two to understand completely.

The good:
-Amazing visuals and stylish graphics, but are better on the PC version.
-Great new parkour gameplay concept.
-Excellent level variety with interesting colour schemes.
-Replay value is high, just because you'll probably want to play your favourite chapters over and over again.
-Intriguing storyline with a few twists and characters you'll think about.
-Silky smooth controls, except for the sixaxis features.

The bad:
-Cheap deaths are frequent.
-Story takes a while to comprehend due to it's unexplained plot segments.
-2D animated cutscenes should have been realtime instead of looking like pro flash animations.
-Lack of anti-aliasing diminishes the quality.
-Sixaxis controls are hard to get used to, especially when balancing.

Final Score: 8.0
