It's Missile Command, and that's about it.

Missile Command - it's a classic. But is it worth 400 Microsoft points? No.

Missile Command has what a lot of XBLA titles have going for them - a classic piece of software and many gamers' nostalgia. But even the most nostalgic fans might want to think about spending something on this game. The graphics are decent, virtually unchanged in the classic mode, and pretty enough in the "update". The menus are nice too. The's not much music or sound to speak off - just a couple ambiance tracks, and the usual noises from Missile Command. The controls are about as good as can be on an Xbox 360 version of Missile Command, and the gameplay is about the same.

Problem with this game is, it's shockingly bare-bones. It's got XBL leaderboards (for the few who actually use them), tutorial, run-of-the-mill multiplayer - the works; all you'd come to expect from any classic Arcade title. But that's about it. Aside from a sped up version of the classic and updated game and a poorly executed multiplayer mode, there's very little meat to speak of on this game's bones.

Anyone who's played Missile Command knows that it's a challenging game. You're pretty good if you can get past more than 7 or so levels. There's no difficulty levels to speak of, so you won't get very far in this game unless you get good at it. The updated version is about the same, although the difference between the three missile towers seems less extreme.

The multiplayer is a teeth-grinding, sore waste of potential. This could have made the game almost good. It seems obvious that a three person co-op mode would be an obvious throw in, but the game settles for the ever-common and ever-useless addition of a switch off system in a competition to see who can get the most points before dying. Yawn.

The game is hard and the content beyond said game is scarce. Chances are, most people won't get much out of this game, which is a little sad considering they're putting in 400 points for it. Beyond hardcore Missile Command fans, I cannot and will not recommend this game to anyone who has any sense of monetary value.
