MLB06: The Show was without a doubt the best MLB game last year and 989 has done it again. They've improved things for pitching the catcher will put out a location, call for a pitch (you don't have to do it but it's helpful), there's also confidence bars next to the your pitch selection so if you gave up a homerun with your fastball your pitcher will hold his breath next time he throws it . When batting you can guessing the location but now you'll get a little marker to see what area your guessing in. The fielding is pretty much the same just more realistic you won't see many people getting robbed (unless your in NY or Detroit JK). The career mode is a bit more improve because you'll pretty much just control your created player so you'll only control yourself when a ball is hit to you or your batting than you'll have a task like get on base, don't strike out, drive in a run. Off the field you can change your position, you'll now train many things at once instead of just one so instead of speed, power you'll apply your pts to the weight room which improves both. Theres also a classic career mode which is the career mode of 06 is you want to control everything. They've also improved none gameplay things like the graphics before a player steps into the box, when your batting the camera will stay a little bit longer on the batter to show the follow though so the game looks more cinematic but still No umpire. In other things there are now two classic all-star (type) of teams to use the Golden, Silver era teams which have to be unlocked. So all in all if you liked MLB, MLB 06 or are looking for a change from MLB 2K7 than you won't be disappointed with MLB 07
