Being the only MLB The Show I own, I'm highly enthused.
In Road to the Show, you create your own character and get picked in the draft by a team. Then you have to go through spring training, warm-ups, and make the cut for the 40 man roster. It' really fun and really addicting. I found myself playing for hours just with this one mode, and going through game after game. The great part about this mode is if you create a player that's anything besides the pitcher, you don't have to stand around and wait for nothing to happen. It skips you to your next players career event. This makes it easy to actually play through spring training and an entire season.
Season mode is like all other baseball games. You choose your favorite team and play as them throughout the season. You can cut players, make trades, and all that other good stuff. Manager Mode is viewing the game as a managers point of view. You call wether you want them to swing away or take a pitch or maybe you want them to throw the ball low and inside. You call the shots in this mode. Another option is just letting the game play itself while your sleeping or something to get credit for winning or losing that game.
There is of course a quick mode, where you just choose a team to play as and play against and start the game up. Almost every game has this so it's really nothing to brag about.
Then you can create a profile and track all your wins, losses, and stats for games, seasons, and just general info about you. You can also unlock different , well, unlockables. These may include super fast warp speed, big heads for everyone, a big baseball to hit, and a few others. It's not really known for all its unlockables.
So this game was definitely worth my time and money. The only thing I wished was that it had a simple batting practice to just get in the groove. Besides that, it was almost perfect. Definitely a good buy for any sports loving gamer.
