The sequel proves to be pretty good.
The Slugfest series doesn't like rules. So none of these games really have rules at all. You can puch people, flip then over sliding into a base, and you can catch on fire and throw some pretty bizarre pitches that have movements unlike any other. There are also some new and improved features, like a new Create-A-Player mode and a new Create-A-Team mode. You also can play a season, Challenge mode, playoff mode, or a Homerun Derby
The sound for Slugfest is good. the best part is the commentators Tim and Jimmy. Jimmy is certaintly the funniest. He has a Donald-Duck voice and says very stupid things, and they both start random conversations that don't have to do with anything. For example, the very first game I played they started talking about the Civil War,a nd another time they were talking about what they had for breakfast. It's very funny. The overall sound too are also very good.
The graphics are not what I expected. Most of the players look the same and really don't have that much detail. The parks look O.K. too, but could have been improved.
So, MLB Slugfest 2006 is a pretty good addition to this wonderful series of hard-core baseball, and it is a "rent-first-then-buy-it-if-you-like-it" type of game
