GAMEPLAY: Sweet and simple is the best way to describe the racing in this game. If you have ever played a Cart racer then you will be right at home. What makes this game stand out though is the way in which everything is executed. The use of drifting, drafting, sideswiping, boosting, shooting, jumping, spinning and dodging/blocking makes ModNation Racers an action packed game with loads of fun to be had. You will never get more satisfaction doing any of the maneuvers listed above in any other game, this game is as much a battle as it is a racer.
CUSTOMIZATION / CREATION: From characters to carts and tracks, the creativity and depth in which this game gives you is immense. If you have played LBP then you will have a similar understanding to this aspect. The editor is super user friendly and IMO is the shining star to this game. Track editor is very intuitive and is overall much simpler to use then the level editor in LBP, you will find that it has never been easier to create the track of your dreams.
Characters - You start of with a blank canvas ( an all white humanoid figure ). You start by choosing a skin tone or paint style and then go on to facial features, hair, headgear, clothes, accessories and so on. You can also add stickers to everything.
Carts - You start by choosing a frame ( formula, sports, cadillacs, vans, muscle cars and so on ) then get to choose the paint job of your creation. After that you choose accessories ( engines, wheels, chairs, bumpers, fins and so on ) and also get to paint any of those the way you want. You can also add stickers to everything.
Tracks - Choose a basic landscape then mess with the terrain ( mountains, rivers, lakes, clouds, sun and so on ) then lay out your basic track and begin to add all the amazing accessories ( jumps, weapons, boosters, short cuts, obstacles and so on ).
The beauty about all of this is that you get to share everything. Make your dream track with your dream driver and invite all your friends for an epic race!
All in all a must buy.
