Disappointed

I'm not an avid driving fan, but I was eagerly awaiting MNR. I was hoping it would recapture some of the fun I had playing Crash Team Racing and Jax X Combat racing (yes, both ancient I know).
I was disappointed with my first 30 minutes of play. The load times are long, long loading the track, long after the cut scenes, long after leaving the main menu, just long. I don't mind waiting, but I found it interfered with my enjoyment of the game. On the plus, there are zero load times if you want to replay the same track.

On the positive
+ Graphics are colorful and appealing
+ Sound provided good background, but not too intrusive
+ Some anchor commentary was funny
+ Easy to pick-up, very little to get confused by
+ Great track creator
+ Tons of customizable things (tracks, carts, outfits...)

On the negative
- Long load times
- Controls seem a bit soft (no real precision in turning, steering)
- All carts seem to perform the exact same way.
At least in other racing games when you unlock something you can make you cart faster, get better traction, armor... Seems odd you can customize everything except for how the cart actually performs.
- Very easy to get out of bounds on the track (go beyond the rails)
- Little/no options with remapping buttons, adjusting sensitivity.

Overall: This game has lots of strengths, being a great cart game with depth in the actual driving is not one of them. I was disappointed and am going to trade it in. If you thought the demo was fun but there had to be more to the actual driving, there isn't.
