A polished puzzler, difficulty matched well with game progression. Very recommend if you missed it the first time round.
A polished puzzler
I remember playing Mole Mania when i wasn't even in the double digits, at that age i found it to be compelling, fun and made you want to push, pull, throw that big ol' iron ball and dig around to get to the next garden.
Although at times one wrongfully dug hole would make this a futile effort but this is one of the reasons why it was so addictive. Mole mania could not be called a easy game, at times very hard, but all this is tempered with a unique idea and its fantastic execution, that made the gamer never bore nor want to pull his/her hair out.
And who could help but fall in love with Muddy Mole as you help him battle through garden after garden in search of this wife and seven kids, all of whom were abducted by farmer Jinbe.
One thing did bother me though, as a mole with bad eyesight already why did Muddy wear those dark tint sunnys?
This is definitely a recommended buy if you can still find it at flea markets and garage sales, or a sealed version if you really want a pristine example.
Definitely one of Masayuki Kameyama's lesser know gems
