Monkey Island 2 takes place a few years later in the pirating world and the story plot is our favorite pirate, Guybrush Threepwood, is searching for the biggest treasure of them all known as Big Whoop. Meanwhile, Guybrush arch-nemesis LeChuck has risen from the grave and swears revenge on Guybrush for what happened to his ghost in the first Monkey Island. However, that shouldn't stop both Guybrush and you, the player, from having another thrilling adventure and finding many little clues to the puzzle that sparks the search for Big Whoop. You'll be able to sail through several islands and be a part of many events that takes place in these islands like the spitting contest and the Mardi Gras. What Guybrush doesn't know is he'll find out the shocking truth that would be better left unheard of and unknown as you progress onto the game helping him out. If you want to know that shocking truth, play the game yourself and get surprised as well.
Much of Monkey Island 2 is alike to the first based on the graphics, the sound effects, the music effects, and the fact of being a classic everyone remembers from the early 1990's. Of course, the tips about experimenting with different items and talking to people to receive advice hasn't changed in the Monkey Island sequel either, so if you've played the first Monkey Island before, you should not have any problems with progressing onward and using the right items for certain events.
