If your looking for a complex, well thought out storyline you won't find it here, its a simple "save the princess" ordeal by defending her against hordes of monsters.
The gameplay is top notch, you can upgrade your powers, fling fire balls and create walls of fire to defend the princess with, you must ensure that the monsters do not get to the bottom of the screen or you will lose lives and lose the level.
Trying to conserve resources is your main challenge as you have limited mana to cast spells which are used to defend yourself. Your mana builds up slowly, so you have to aim your shots carefully and eliminate groups of monsters with each fireball. Combos also earn you additional points and mana, so this will benefit you greatly if you can get as many combos as possible, you can also earn achievements in the game center if you do big combos etc.
As you progress through the game, you'll stumble upon new types of monsters. Some are harder to elminate and therefore require more than one hit. Others monsters will explode and send lines of fire out to burn other monsters which you can use to your advantage to conserve mana. Sometimes, the princess hides amongst the hordes of monsters, and if you hit her you will lose your health. All in all it goes without saying these require precision and deadly accuracy in casting your spells at the enemy and quick thinking to take advantage of the ever changing surroundings to your advantage. It does get a tad repetivitive but the fact that if gets more challenging will mean that the game is still pretty fun.
Overall you need to get this game, and the fact that it is free should mean you can get it fairly easily. Enjoy burning things!
