I played the first mhf and I tell you I was on the fence about this game. This one has had improvements which have swayed me to love this game. I have given this game a 9.5 only because there is around 5 seconds of loading in between areas, this has been modified from the 10 or more seconds from last game with the newly introduced background loading. The graphics have been slightly improved with more detali and motions. Still the graphics cannot be beaten by any other game on the psp. The combat is more fun then last time now with 11 weapon classess over last games 7. There are more quests more armour and more fun. To be precise there are 270 new quests and 700 different custimisations of weapons and 1400 different pieces of armour to make and a 100X more fun. The storyline is almost non-existent but whats the point of going over the same crappy story every time you play an rpg but with mhf2, you get right down to the action. There are three (or 4 if you include treasur hunting) types of quests (being from best to worst): hunting, slaying and last and least gathering quests. You probably can gather from the titles what you have to do in each kind of quest. Hunting quests are bloody awesome. You and some unbelievably huge monsters are battling out on one of the 7 different worlds/terrains to the death. You can use traps, bombs and of course your unique weapons. Slaying you take out a certain number and type of monster and gathering quests has you going out and finding mushrooms, herbs, rocks and monster bones. At the beginning of the game you begin with all 11 weapons and money generously donated by a retired hunter. From here you continue battling out single and multiplayer quests. Single player quests will suffice but multiplayer quests will blow your mind. You and 3 mates can kick ass side by side and it will be a fantastic experience Go out there get this game and spread the word that monster hunter is the best game you have ever played and most have all kick those monsters scaly behind and have fun.
