A serious upgrade when compared to the first monster hunter games. New weapon and monster types gave it 7 points alone.
Now for MHF2, the vast array of monsters, new weapon classes, expanded farms, and the item aquisitions made it better in several ways. Downsizing the number of items made it easier to get weapons, but some new items filled the void in their place and have new roles like jewels in armor. The jewel attachment to armor made a big difference because torso inc is not always reliable, even when the skills are visable, lots of planning may be required to have the best match possible. Jewel sockets gave players more options to adjust fighting tactics without having to go over an entire wordrobe of armor. HR 6 in MHF2 and I still enjoy the hunt. Having only wyverns is boring, and I support what the guys in charge of MH did with adding new monster classes to put more excitement because not every tactic used is universal. "You must change the weapon to fit the situation" Peppy Hare, Star Fox Assault, Mission 2. An intresting quote. Consider armor suitable for fighting a monster that has a roar of a earplug requirement like the Tigrex set may not always be usefull against a high grade roar monster like a Gravios or Tigrex.
