User Rating: 8.7 | Monster Farm Advance 2 GBA
Monster Rancher Advance 2 is one of those games you can't put down. For the GBA, it has great graphics. Trying to unlock all of the 512 different species and subspecies of monsters is a challenge, and every one is different. The password system for unlocking monsters is creative and fresh, but battling monsters is the best part of the game. The biggest challenge of the game is to get your monster to the highest rank before it gets too old and has to retire. But even retired monsters are useful, since you can hire them as coaches for the next generation. You can also take your monsters on expeditions to find items, riches and even rare breeds of monsters. The sound can sometimes get repetitive, but still fits the mood of what you're doing at the time. Don't think you need to be a fan of the series to like this game, this is the only Monster Rancher game I have ever played. It's not too difficult, but not too easy either. It's a great value for the amount of re-playability it gives you. Overall, this is a fun, highly addicting GBA game and definitely worth your time.
