Going back to your roots never felt better!
The latest installment of Mortal Kombat gives a lot of fan service to the fans. Ranging from fast flowing, free fighting kombat, to a classic 2D fighting feel as well as a new telling of an old story. Mini games return as well as an interesting twist on some of the games. The Krypt returns with a bunch of things to buy and has some neat Easter eggs (no pun intended due to the season) in it as well.
If you are a sucker like me and bought DL05 as soon as you could because you saw it in the Demo's end movie you may or may not be disappointed. I thought it was going to be something real good but it just turned out to be okay in my opinion.
The challenge tower is loaded with a lot of interesting challenges, lots of variety, some mission concepts do repeat themselves but there is a lot of variety there to keep you entertained for a while.
The re-imagining of some characters actually served them better than in the past. All in all if you were a fan of Mortal Kombat in the past and even a fan of the 3D games I recommend buying this title.
