I won't go into a total review of the game, but I probably should since Gamespot left out many great options of this game. To name just one is the Krypt. It's an area where you can use your points you earn while playing to unlock things like new fatalities, cheat codes, extras costumes, artwork and more. In all there are hundreds of things to be unlocked and discovered. Graphically this games is one of the best looking 2D fighters I've ever seen. The gameplay and controller response is spot on!!! That is huge for any fighter game. The story mode is excellent in every way. I highly suggest doing that first if your not familiar with Mortal Kombat. Comparing this game to any other fighter is kinda of hard to do since there are soooooooo many things in this game to do. Story Mode, Standard Fighting Mode, Training, Bonus Games, King of the Hill, Online, Unlocks, Achievements blah blah blah. The list goes on and on. And the list of fighters is awesome. They included nearly every character throughout the MK universe with more coming in DLC. Oh yeah you may want to get it for the PS3 since you can play as Kratos..... AWESOME!!!!! Even without all the extras this game deserves no less that a 9.0 for presentation and gameplay alone. I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of all the over the top gore and would never suggest this game to anyone under age. Other than that this game is perfect. If your a long time MK fan or someone who likes fighters..... what are you waiting for..... GET THIS GAME NOW!!!
