Cut Characters and repetitive gameplay give a black eye to this other wise excellent fighter
Over all MK3 is a straight forward Mortal Kombat game, allowing players to select from a wide assortment of fighters, each with their own special moves. MK3 also marks the first appearence of fan favorite characters Kabal and Smoke. Graphics wise, the game is an improvement over it's predicessors, with more detail being added to the sprits, and back grounds. The controls are fairly straight forward, including your basic punches and kicks, combo moves and difficult to pull off special moves and fatalities. Over all the controls are failry well ballanced and easy to master.
However, MK 3 does suffer from it's fair share of problems. Among these, and possibly the flaw that will alienate many hardcore MK Fans, is the deleation of such fan favorite characters as Scorpion, Noob Saibot, and Reptile. Another fatal flaw the game has is that it's storyline feels recycled, and it's gameplay ultimatly becomes extremely repetitive.
Despite the flaws it has, MK3 is a must have for fans of the MK Series, and fighting games in general. However, the deletion of characters like Scorpion and Reptile ultimatly take away a lot of the game's replayablity.
