There is no doubt for any Mortal Kombat fan looking for some Mortal Kombat on the run for GBA will be extremely disapointed. When you look at the nice packaging and the screenshots on the back, it looks very nice. It looks just like Ultimate Mortal Kombat at the arcade. But it certainly doesn't play like that. It's barely playable at all. The biggest flaw in the gameplay department is it's timing. Button pressing is very unresponsive. Then the fact there's no aggressor meter, turnaround kicks, and uppercuts are too slow to connect fast enough. It doesn't help the gameplay had to be scaled down to 4 buttons. It's just too bad. It has the look and pretty much the sound. But that's not enough if you're going to mix it with gameplay that feels like it was designed by apes. But maybe an ape could've done a better job with the gameplay. As far as value, you can unlock a few secret characters. That's nice if you could actually have fun playing with them. What else is there to say about this game? Give it to someone you don't like. They'll think it's Mortal Kombat fun on the go but it's a nightmare that they might want to use as firewood. So I'd like to know what's so advanced about this game. This game is a piece of...well, you fill in the blank.
