Fans of the series will be awe-struck at the opening sequence (I know I was!), and it gives them most of what they want.
User Rating: 8.6 | Mortal Kombat: Armageddon PS2
I was thoroughly satisfied with the hefty roster of pretty much every damn MK karakter kreated...mmhmm, excuse me. Now the Conquest Mode may be a little dry & repetitive, but the story was pretty intriguing, but then again, I'm a die-hard MK fan, and it could have been better. The fighting hasn't changed at all, but it's already pretty balanced with breakers to prevent insane strings of repeated attacks. I'm kinda on the fence with the new create-a-fatality. I liked personalized fatalities and playing as everybody just to see their own way of finshing someone off, but now we have all sorts of chains & transitions with swords to mutilate at the end of the round, the possibilities are endless! The whole reason I bought this game was because I played it at my Buddy's house online (BTW, ANY SUCKAS CAN TAKE ON MCBRIZZLE ONLINE, BE MY GUEST)and seeing really awesome players pull off some Ultimate Fatalities was just righteous! Armageddon is a solid MK game to own, but it's not as good as Deception. Motor Kombat was pretty cool, but wasn't a good enough substitute for the classic, diamond-smashing mini-games of yore. But I gave Armageddon an 8.6 because it is the 2nd best MK game out of the four newest ones. But never-the-less, there is pints, quarts, and gallons of blood spilled during the course of this game, and that spells success!
